How we research, review and update our guidance.

Business finance is a space where a wrong detail costs owners real money. This page explains how our guides get written, who checks them, where the facts come from, and what we do when something needs fixing.

Methodology

How a guide is made.

Every guide in our Business Hub goes through the same four steps before and after it is published.

It starts with a real question

Guide topics come from the questions Australian business owners actually ask us: knock-backs, ATO debt, cash flow gaps, equipment purchases. We do not write to chase keywords.

Drafted against lender criteria

Rates, eligibility rules, document lists and timeframes are checked against the current criteria of our 50+ lender panel, the same information we use to place real deals.

Reviewed by a named founder

Before publishing, a founder reviews the guide for accuracy and puts their name on it. The reviewer is shown on the guide with a public profile you can check.

Dated, then kept current

Every guide displays when it was last updated. We revisit guides when lender criteria, regulation or the market shifts, not on a marketing calendar.

Sources

Where the facts come from.

We write from primary sources and first-hand experience, in this order of preference:

  • Our lender panel. Product criteria, rates, document requirements and approval timeframes come from the 50+ non-bank lenders we place deals with, checked at the time of writing.
  • Official Australian sources. Where a guide mentions tax or regulation, we check the facts against the relevant authority, such as the ATO or ASIC. We are not tax agents or advisers and do not interpret the rules for your situation; that belongs with your accountant.
  • Real deals we have settled. Worked examples, common knock-back reasons and practical guidance reflect the applications we handle for Australian businesses every day.
Corrections & updates

When something changes, or we get it wrong.

Every guide shows its last-updated date. When lender criteria or regulation moves, we update the guide and the date with it. If you believe something we have published is inaccurate or out of date, email hello@fundingloop.com.au with the page link: a founder reviews every report, and genuine errors are corrected promptly.

Independence

How we make money, and what that means for the content.

Funding Loop is a finance broker and marketplace, not a lender. Using our service is free for the business; we are paid a commission by the lender when a loan settles. That model funds this content, so here is exactly how we keep the two separate:

  • Guides are never sponsored, and lenders cannot pay for placement or favourable coverage.
  • No lender sees or approves a guide before it is published.
  • Our guidance covers options we do not sell, including bank finance and doing nothing, when that is the honest answer.
  • Our content is general information, not financial advice. It does not consider your specific situation; decisions about finance should factor in advice from your accountant or adviser.

You'll know where you stand within 24 hours.

One application. A real specialist. A straight answer - even if the answer is no.
